The Firearms Division conducts eligibility checks for firearms purchases, issues various special weapons permits, conducts inspections of firearms dealers to ensure compliance with California firearms laws and policies, regulates gun shows, regulates assault weapon registration, certifies the testing of handguns and handgun safety devices, and performs other tasks regarding firearm related matters.

Due to the high number of brain-dead liberals here in Kalifornia, the State has passed a handgun safety law that will go into effect Jan. 1, 2000. This idiotic law forces all handgun manufactures to certify that their product is safe before they can offer it for sale here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia.This is the state's DOJ site, listing all certified handguns.
